about

Hello and welcome to my website - recently updated for 2010.

No doubt you've already spent some time examining my work, and have hopefully seen some examples that you like. This page has been designed for me to tell you a little more about myself, and hopefully answer any questions that potential future employers or clients may have.

Firstly, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Matt Sibbald, a 28 year old graphic designer from Plymouth. My formal design education took place at Plymouth College of Art and Design, which I left in 2008 having completed my course with a very high percentage of 'Distinction' grades. Until Christmas 2009 I was employed by a company that imports items from abroad, and was responsible for creating all of their fliers, posters, point of sale leaflets and brochures etc. Despite enjoying my previous job, I found the daily 55 mile commute too time consuming and expensive, so am now looking for something a little closer to Plymouth (or Freelance work based from home).

Although my interest primarily lies within designing a product for print (using Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, InDesign etc), I also enjoy designing websites. My long term career goal would be to work for either a magazine publisher or company that designs DVD covers/sleeves (especially for movies, but that's in a perfect world).

I hope you enjoy the remainder of your visit, and please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
